In Sweden, UnionPay cards are accepted at shops, franchise stores and restaurants most frequented by tourists, as well as convenient stores, pharmacies, and supermarkets. UnionPay cards are accepted at the ATMs of Bankomat, Kontanten, and Forex.
  • Sweden – North Country Scene

Why not take your UnionPay card (card number starting with 62) to explore the quiet and tranquil rural countryside by driving, and appreciate the “North Country Scene”?
  • POS acceptance
    Merchants with the signage of  all accept UnionPay cards, for example: Åhléns, NK；Acne Studios, H&M, & Other Stories, ARKET；ICA, Hemköp, WILLY:S, COOP；Pressbyrå, 7-ELEVEN, Starbucks, KFC, etc. Since some of the merchants have yet to put up the UnionPay signage, cardholders may show their UnionPay cards upon the till and inquire about UnionPay acceptance.

    When using co-branded cards, you are advised to choose UnionPay as the routing option to be benefited from the special offers and services provided by UnionPay. 

    Note：Some UnionPay card acceptors or acquirers route co-branded cards  to corresponding card shcem according to the card BIN, which means co-branded cards transactions aren't routed to UnionPay without selection by cardholders and merchant cashiers. Please refer to the transaction results for the information about transaction routing.

    Paying with UnionPay credit card at some local merchants requires no PIN.Cardholders can complete the payment following the instruction of the cashier.You can also refer to relative service guide at "    Help Center-Card-using Instructions-Service Guide for Overseas Using of UnionPay Credit Card without PIN". 
  • Cash withdrawal
    In Sweden, UnionPay cards are accepted at more than 90% of the local ATMs. All the ATMs of Bankomat, Kontanten and Forex accept UnionPay cards for cash withdrawal. There is signage of   on the screen. And the ATMs of Bankomat provide the interface in Chinese. There is orange "Uttag" logo  displayed on some Kontanten ATMs.


    Please refer to the latest government policy on overseas cash withdrawal via UnionPay cards at "Help Center-Card-using Instructions-Refined Card-using Tips". Daily cash withdrawal limit from respective issuers and/or ATM may apply. Please consult your issuer on the possible cap on the amount. 

    Bankomat and Kontanten ATM single withdrawal limit is 2000 SEK (ATM companies might charge a small sum of service fee), You may split your withdrawals into several times which comply with the limit(s).

  • Tips
    Select PINs that cannot be easily guessed by anyone.
    Never disclose your PIN to anyone who claims to represent the bank or the police.
    Be alert to your surroundings before conducting any banking transactions.
    Keep a close eye on your credit card during transaction to avoid any illegal activities.
    If your UnionPay card has been stolen/lost, please inform the issuer immediately.
  • Introduction of Overseas Tax Refund
    UnionPay tax refund procedure varies slightly from country to country due to each country's tax refund regulations or the user's choice of tax refund method.

    ① Get the Tax Refund Form upon purchase over a specified minimum amount (inclusive), select UnionPay card (card number starting with 62) to receive the tax refund.
    ② Pass Customs inspection before departure (get the Tax Refund Form stamped or scanned).
    ③ Deliver or mail the tax refund forms and invoices (reminder: for future query and retrospection, please record the information, photocopy or photo is preferred, in Tax Refund Form and invoice before delivering or mailing the documents).
  • More considerate services offered by UnionPay Card
    UnionPay Card Emergency Cash Assistance Service
    UnionPay cardholders can call the hotline of the issuing bank or local UnionPay hotline to apply for an emergency cash assistance capped at the equivalent of USD 5,000 if they are experiencing emergencies like lost or malfunctioning cards.
