UnionPay cards are acceptedable atin many shopping malls, franchise stores and other merchants in Nigeria popular among which are frequently visited by tourists as well as at all ATMs of all banks except forexcluding Standard Chartered Bank.
  • Nigeria – Village of National Parks in West Africa
    As a West African country, the Federal Republic of Nigeria is possessed with abundant natural landscapes, including mountains, rivers, waterfalls, springs, caves, lakes and winding mountain chains. It is the charming sights and beautiful scenery that makes Nigeria become an ideal place for leisure, exploration and other tourism activities. Here, national parks, such as Jos Wildlife Park, Old Oyo National Park, Yankari National Park and Obudu Cattle Ranch all possess their unique natural ecosystems. Why not take your UnionPay cards (card number starting with 62) to seek for the lost original ecology in national parks of Nigeria.
  • POS acceptance
    Merchants displaying the signage of   accept UnionPay cards. Merchants include places frequently visited by tourists, such as shopping malls, souvenir shops, restaurants, hotels, etc. Since that some of the merchants have yet to put up the UnionPay signage, cardholders may show their UnionPay cards upon the till and inquire about UnionPay acceptance.

    When using co-branded cards, you are advised to choose UnionPay as the routing option to be benefited from the special offers and services provided by UnionPay. 

    Note：Some UnionPay card acceptors or acquirers route co-branded cards  to corresponding card shcem according to the card BIN, which means co-branded cards transactions aren't routed to UnionPay without selection by cardholders and merchant cashiers. Please refer to the transaction results for the information about transaction routing.
  • Cash withdrawal
    In Nigeria, UnionPay cards are accepted for cash withdrawal and balance inquiry at all ATMs but Standard Chartered ATMs. UnionPay chip cards are accepted for withdrawing cash at ATMs of GTB, Enterprise bank, Jaiz Bank, Hasal MFB and ASO Savings.

    Please refer to the latest government policy on overseas cash withdrawal via UnionPay cards at "Help Center-Card-using Instructions-Refined Card-using Tips". Daily cash withdrawal limit from respective issuers and/or ATM may apply. Please consult your issuer on the possible cap on the amount. You may split your withdrawals into several times which comply with the limit(s).
  • Charges
    ATM commission fee consists of two parts:
    (1)Service fee charged by the issuer: please consult the issuer for details.
    (2)Service fee charged by the ATM acquirer in Nigeria: some ATMs will charge commission fee, which is charged by the local banks in Nigeria and which has nothing to do with UnionPay or the issuer.

    Cash withdrawal via debit card results in a lower commission fee.
  • Tips
    Select PINs that cannot be easily guessed by anyone.
    Never disclose your PIN to anyone who claims to represent the bank or the police.
    Be alert to your surroundings before conducting any banking transactions.
    Keep a close eye on your credit card during transaction to avoid any illegal activities.
    If your UnionPay card has been stolen/lost, please inform the issuer immediately.
