POS acceptance
In Malta, around 80% of merchants accept UnionPay cards, including characteristic shops, restaurants, apparel shops, and hotels in cities such as Valletta and Gozo.
Merchants with the signage of
all accept UnionPay cards. Since that some of the merchants have yet to put up the UnionPay signage, cardholders may show their UnionPay cards upon the till and inquire about POS of HSBC bank , Global Payments, Sumup etc. to accept UnionPay cards.
When using co-branded cards, you are advised to choose UnionPay as the routing option to be benefited from the special offers and services provided by UnionPay.Note：Some UnionPay card acceptors or acquirers route co-branded cards to corresponding card shcem according to the card BIN, which means co-branded cards transactions aren't routed to UnionPay without selection by cardholders and merchant cashiers. Cash withdrawal
In Malta, all the Euronet ATMs accept UnionPay cards for withdrawing Euro. There are signage or the signage of Euronet on these ATMs or the ATM screen.

Tax Refund of UnionPay Cards upon Returning
UnionPay International cooperates with United Money& Transforex money to launch the service of tax refund on return. In Italy, if UnionPay cardholders shop in the stores labeled with the following logos of tax refund cooperative institutions, it’s available apply online for tax refund upon returning after having tax return form stamped by the customs. The tax-refund process is simple in operation, credit to RMB account and available to exempt the trouble of queuing. Introduction of Overseas Tax Refund
In Malta, UnionPay has launched the UnionPay card (card number starting with 62) overseas tax refund service in cooperation with Global Blue, Planet Tax Free. You can apply for tax refunds when shopping in tax-free stores with the following logos of tax refund companies. You are entitled to use the UnionPay cards for receiving of tax refund. -

Select PINs that cannot be easily guessed by anyone.
