UnionPay International Announces Launch of Debit Card in Timor-Leste in Partnership with BNCTL

Dili, 20th September 2024 – UnionPay International, a leading global payment network, is pleased to announce the official launch of first UnionPay card issurance in Timor-Leste in partnership with Banco Nacional de Comércio de Timor-Leste (BNCTL). The launch took place during a special event held in Dili, where UnionPay International and BNCTL welcomed the Timor-Leste government, the Central Bank and other dignitaries as well as business communities.

The launch of UnionPay in Timor-Leste marks a significant milestone in the country’s financial landscape, providing customers with access to a world-class payment network that offers convenience, security, and reliability. UnionPay International’s services will enable customers to make payments and transactions with ease, both domestically and internationally.
