Sign up to enjoy exchange rate benefits for spending in Hong Kong and Macau!

Upon registration, you will enjoy a Tier 1 Exchange Rate Discount. Starting from the day after registration, based on the total consumption amount during the promotion with the registered card in Hong Kong and Macau, the benefits will be upgraded. If the cumulative cross-border consumption amount reaches RMB 2,500, it will be upgraded to Tier 2 Exchange Rate Discount; if it reaches RMB 40,000, it will be upgraded to Tier 3 Exchange Rate Discount.

Activity Rules：

1. Event Period (Beijing Time): From the date of announcement until February 17, 2025, 23:59:59.

2. Eligible Participants: UnionPay cards issued in Mainland China starting with the number 62.

3. Participation Method:

1) Users with UnionPay cards issued in Mainland China starting with the number 62 can register for the promotion. Multiple cards can be registered, but each card can only be registered for one platform channel and cannot be registered repeatedly. Each registration channel is only valid for the cards supported by that channel's app or banking institution.

2) After successful registration, users who make consumer transactions in Hong Kong and Macao SAR in Hong Kong Dollars (HKD) or Macao Patacas (MOP) (including pre-authorized transactions, i.e., transactions where actual deductions occur in pre-authorized transactions) will enjoy Exchange Rate Benefits. The promotion does not apply to installment payments, mail-order/telephone order transactions (MOTO), ATM withdrawals, or remittance transactions. Transaction time, type, and exchange rate are subject to the records of the UnionPay backend system. For pre-authorized transactions, the exchange rate and discount will apply based on the real-time rate at the time the pre-authorization transaction is settled (For queries on these transactions, users can contact the merchant).

3) During the event period, upon registration, users can enjoy Tier 1 Exchange Rate Discount on the same day, and from the next day, the level will be updated based on the user's cumulative online and offline cross-border consumption transaction total from the day of registration to the previous day (note: one-day consumption is from 23:00 of the previous day to 22:59 of the current day).

4) If the cumulative cross-border consumption amount reaches RMB 2,500, it will be upgraded to Tier 2 Exchange Rate Discount; if it reaches RMB 40,000, it will be upgraded to Tier 3 Exchange Rate Discount.

5) This promotion is capped at 15,000 transactions on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

6) Only transactions processed via UnionPay are eligible for the promotion. Transactions made through UnionPay online payments, third-party platforms, or bank apps are not eligible.

7) Cardholders can enjoy the exchange rate discount when using their registered cards to make purchases at physical merchants through Swiping, QuickPass (including Card QuickPass and Mobile QuickPass), UnionPay QR code, Bank APPs, or UnionPay APP, or for online purchases (Only applicable to companies with registered addresses in the Hong Kong and Macao SAR) via UnionPay Online Payments (including using Bank APPs, UnionPay APP, or Mobile QuickPass), excluding restricted merchants such as regulatory restricted merchants and banks' high-risk merchants, and auction merchants. Stored-value goods such as consumption coupons, vouchers, stored-value cards and cigarettes, alcohol, investment gold bars (including gold particles) are excluded from the campaign and will not be discounted. Government services, Public Schools, Public Utilities, Charities, Social Services, and Octopus recharge of the card issued in Chinese Mainland are also excluded and will not be discounted;

8) From the start of the promotion, the cumulative transaction amount (before applying any discount) will be capped at CNY 1,000,000 (all registered cards under this event and channel are calculated in total). Once this amount is reached, the transaction of the registered cards under this event and channel (including new cards) will no longer enjoy benefits.

9) The discount levels will be updated daily around 12:00 PM (Beijing Time), subject to the actual announcement by UnionPay International Co., Ltd. (referred to "UnionPay International"), and transactions after the level update can enjoy the corresponding new discount.

10) After successful registration, users can check the Exchange Rate Discount for Hong Kong dollars (HKD) and Macao Patacas (MOP) in the FX Rate module, which is calculated based on the market exchange rate combined with the user's current discount level. The market exchange rates are sourced from UnionPay’s system, based on multiple channels and market principles. Both the market exchange rate and the discount levels may fluctuate according to market conditions. The displayed disocount exchange rate is for reference only, and the exchange rate in the query module may be delayed compared to the actual transaction exchange rate. The actual exchange rate will prevail at the time of the transaction, and UnionPay International will apply the corresponding discount based on the real-time exchange rate. After the discount level changes, the Tier 3 Exchange Rate Discount is not necessarily higher than the Tier 2 Exchange Rate Discount or the Tier 1 Exchange Rate Discount. Similarly, the Tier 2 Exchange Rate Discount may not necessarily be higher than past Tier 1 Exchange Rate Discount. Please consume responsibly.

11) If a card is registered for multiple UnionPay Exchange Rate Promotion for HKD or MOP, the consumption on the card will accumulate and upgrade separately for each activity. During transactions, the most favorable discount will be applied from the available discounts across these activities. Users can only enjoy the exchange rate discount from one UnionPay HKD or MOP exchange rate promotion per transaction; duplicate discounts are not allowed.

12) After registration and making consumption, users can check the registration records and benefit bills in the “Exchange Rate Benefit Record” on the activity homepage.

13) If the user cancels registration for the card, the card will no longer enjoy the exchange rate discount, and its cumulative consumption amount will be excluded from the most recent level update. If this exclusion causes the user’s cumulative transaction amount to fall below the level threshold, the discount level will be downgraded. Consumption after cancellation will not be included in the cumulative amount calculation.

14) Refunds and Returns: If a transaction is refunded or returned, only the actual amount paid by the cardholder will be refunded, and the exchange rate discount amount will not be refunded. No compensation or adjustment will be made for the discount. The transaction amount from refunded or returned transactions will be deducted from the user’s cumulative total during the next level update. If this deduction causes the user’s total to fall below the level threshold, the discount level will be downgraded.

15) If the cardholder registers on the last day of the promotion, only the Tier 1 Exchange Rate Discount can be enjoyed on the day of registration, and consumption from that day onwards will not be accumulated and upgraded.

16) This promotion cannot be enjoyed simultaneously with other promotions (such as UnionPay APP red packets, activities that have indicated non-combinable with other offers, etc.).

17) The minimum exchange rate discount amount (if applicable) is CNY 0.01.

18) The benefits of this promotion will expire at the end of the event.

19) The discounts are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash or products.

20) Accounts from the same platform channel (e.g., Bank APPs, UnionPay APP, etc.) are considered as the same user. Users can only register for the promotion using their own platform account, Bank Card, etc.

21) If a user is found to be violating the rules or engaging in fraudulent behavior to obtain UnionPay discounts or card rights and interests, UnionPay International reserves the right to withhold discounts, cancel the user’s participation in current or future promotions, and recover any benefits already granted. If such improper actions cause UnionPay International to suffer losses or damage its reputation, UnionPay International reserves the right to pursue compensation from the user.

6. UnionPay International reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions in both Chinese and English. In case of discrepancies, the Simplified Chinese version will prevail.

Exception Clause:

1. The terms and conditions of the promotion is applicable to the merchant. Details can be consulted from customer service staff.
2. UnionPay International is neither vendors nor service providers, thus UnionPay International is not responsible for the products or services provided by the merchant. Any obligations and liabilities relating to such products or services and all auxiliary services shall be borne by the merchant.
