Shi Wenchao, President of China UnionPay, met with Iwan Setiawan, CEO of Rintis, Indonesia’s largest ATM switching organization, in Jakarta on 4 December. Shi Wenchao says UnionPay will seize the opportunity brought by the implementation of the “Maritime Silk Road” strategy and accelerate cooperation with Rintis on UnionPay card acceptance environment and local issuance of UnionPay cards, and thus spare more efforts to support the exchanges and cooperation between China and Indonesia. Iwan Setiawan says Rintis attaches great importance to the partnership with UnionPay and will proactively push forward the development of UnionPay card service on the local market and provide convenient services to cardholders traveling to Indonesia.
